A resident of Maryland's historic city of Frederick for the past several years, I am mostly self-taught as a photographer - except for an occasional workshop every now and then. Even before doing anything serious with my first second-hand camera, my awe for photography was kindled in the darkroom, when I had to learn on-the-fly to process and print electron microscopy negatives for use in my graduate thesis. Over the years, my ensuing primary interest in landscape photography in black and white has extended to color as well as other alternative mediums such as platinum/palladium. More recently, after spending many years in limbo between the traditional film based photography and the new and emerging digital world, I have finally made the full plunge into the latter - finding yet again the treasures (and tribulations) of the darkroom, now appropriately named as the Lightroom, albeit with a computer and an inkjet printer.
